BLUE AND GOLD

so last night was the blue and gold banquet for scouts. I being a Den Leader was completely immersed in it. We had Chinese haystacks and the decorations for awesome, If I say so myself! (KEep in mind it was Scouts) I think the night was good overall. I had a good time. Robert Dropped in at some point to pick something up and he said "I could tell you were in your element" Now I am not sure about that, but I can tell you that I enjoy a good visit. And some of the Ladies in scouts are my most favorite ladies to visit with!!! So that is always a bonus. Thank you Lisa, the food was great and the night was pretty smooth going.

On the down side I have 4 kids sick at my house. Not sure I will want to be living here this weekend. I doesn't look good. I guess it will be a grin and bear it kind of thing. I hate sickness. I feel like bring on the summer.!!

7 random facts

I saw this on someone's blog and decided it would be fun.

7 Random facts about me

1. I love to learn, but I never really could decide on a career. I have ALWAYS wanted to be a Mom. I never had that conflicting emotion of wanting to do something else.

2. As a small child, ok who am I kidding -and sometimes now, I loved to eat dirt! I especially liked my sisters' mud pie recipe...............

3. I thought my room growing up was especially beautiful. I loved it. I felt special in it. It was this lovely shade of spring green. The carpet was a deep grass green. My Mom bought these curtains and bedspreads that were light green/white gingham checked. WE even had a matching lamp. I figured we had MADE IT. Ah............the days.

4. I love to play sports. I played alot while growing up. I was a decent player. I was over all happy with my performance. ....But I don't like to watch sports much on TV.........

5. I always knew I would marry someone with a long last name, weird, I know.

6. I went to a fortune teller at a county fair after highschool, I was with my sister-in-law. I was dating a guy who wanted me to marry him. I hadn't met Robert yet. The Lady addressed all my concerns at the time and talked in length about the guy in my life and the one I was yet to meet. IT was a strange experience.

7. I love being in my '30s' . I can't wait to get older. I love grey hair. I don't mind aging. I think the experience that comes with age is about the best thing that has ever happened to me. I can't wait to be an old lady in the 'sunset of my life'. Relating to other older ladies. They are my favorite group of people -besides babies. I can only hope that I will be blessed with people around me, That I won't be 'alone'. That would be tragic.

Bye, Bye Credibility

So I've lost it, credibility that is, at least with one of my neighbors. Everytime this person comes over, my house looks like a hurricane just hit it. It's not like I don't do anything all day, I'm busy, believe me. But The kids do outnumber me and It shows -on alot of days. They can undo what I have worked on all day in less that an hour. We have this good friend and it seems that whenever they drop by it's stinky, dirty, unswept, fingerprints everywhere and so on. It's horrible. I think they now look at me and go-"sure lady, you'll get to this mess, sometime in the next MILLENIUM!! -already thinking that it is always dirty when I come by and you always apologize and you stammer and tell me it always isn't this way and so forth..........." (insert deep sigh) It's just I wish I had it more together ALL the time. I so desperatly want to be better organized. It's not likely to happen. Not anytime soon though. I think I can only do my best. I know that. I know that it shouldn't matter what other think. I know that. But somehow the feeling wheedles itself in and I think, what if I.............And that is where I think I go wrong. So I resolve to turn over and new leaf and accept that I am not a work horse and that I don't want to spend EVERY SINGLE HOUR cleaning. Face it, that's what it would take at my house! I accept the dirty cheerios in my cushions, I will accept that my kid has a dirty face. I will not be bothered by uncombed hair. BAckpacks strewn all over the place shouldn't matter -right? I guess it depends upon the day you catch me. Hopefully it won't be the day it's always dirty!!!

King Henry

So we haven't seen our cat for about a week. Suprisingly, I 've missed him. He was a great cat. I'm starting to think that he's a goner. I just found out that our neighbor, (his back yard is kitty cornor to our back yard) will take cats (if they are in his yard) put them in a cage and take them out of town and kill them. My other neighbor called the Animal Control people and they said that if the cats are in the man's yard he can cage them. And as long as he doesn't poison them he's not breaking the law. This is awful. Our cat COULD be visiting some girlfriends- it is that season. But I have this feeling the cat is not coming back. I told the kids this morning that he is probably gone, They were a pretty sober group. I don't blame them!

we're back

We made it back from Provo. The roads were absolutly fabulous. It was great. My Brother had a nice ceremony and we saw many, many people come to support him. It warms the heart that so many people around him are proud of him and support him.

The kids had a great time playing with their cousins. The pool was alot of fun, It did seem to have to much chlorine in it though. We will be calling the Hotel about it. It ruined Robert's swimming suit and the girls had to bathe their eyes with cool wash cloths to go to bed. I think it was the chlorine. We inquired at the desk, but the man we had t o talk to was not there. So we will call back today. The men took the older kids to see the Spiderwick Chronicles. While the girls took Brynlee to buy a new swimming suit for swim team and buy Ryan some cookware. So we had fun shopping and going to lunch, without all the kids. It was quite nice. I think fun was had by all. !!!

family

Robert's two sisters and their kids came to visit yesterday. I was neglectful, I didn't get pictures of anyone. The visit was a happy suprise. Kami called Monday (I think) and said she would be up visiting, and asked if she could come by. And of course, We were happy to see them. Robert was able to be here the whole time to see his family, So I was happy about that. It was nice that he was able to work his hours around seeing them. It was so great seeing some family, it has been awhile since we have been around Robert's family at all. We haven't seen Kami for several years. So it was nice of her to come all this way to see us. It was a short but very sweet visit. We're doing well otherwise. No new news.

New Beginnings

So Tonight was my first night going to New Beginnings as a PARENT. Brynlee will be 12 this year. So they invite all the prospective girls to come and get to know the program, and be excited for Young Women's. I loved it. I can't wait for her to enter. And from what she said, she can't wait either. She was a natural. I think this may be a long year for her in Primary. I can so relate to her. I think my last year in Primary was torture. I so desperatly wanted to move on. And unfortunatly, I probably wasn't the best kid in Primary because of it. She fit right in with the other girls, and the best part. They were so warm and inviting and excited to see her. I don't know that there is that many in Primary her age left. And I think it's a bit lonely. Oh, well, such is life. I was loving the whole Yound Women attitude. And the BEAUTY!! I so miss that being in scouts. I miss the beautiful women to talk to. the environment is so different in Scouts. ONe that I am still trying to adjust to. Tonight made me remember the differences. Scouts is great too. I just have to work a bit harder at it.
On a completely different note, This Friday I will be going to my little brother's graduation. I am so proud of him. HE is in a school for boys that have learning disabilities and can't quite go to college but are ready to leave home. I think he has excelled at this institution. I think I see vast growth in him, both emotional, spiritual, and maturity. He is still working on alot of things. And life for him will probably never be easy with his particular disabilities, But you know, he is making it. HE succeeding at a life he can be proud of. And I think that is all anyone really wants-right? SO Congratulations!! Ryan!! Good Job. And good luck to you for your future after Scenic View!

Thank You!

Thank you to my cousin Arin, who gave me this link to help me figure out how to change my blog. I took forever, but I finally figured it out. Her blog was inspiring. I hope I can come up with some cool looks in the future. But this will be my 'starting' point! :)

OK?!

Sometimes I think, "What is wrong with me?", my husband just called to say that he hit a patch of black ice and did a 180 on Memorial drive. What do I do? Lecture him on how fast he was going. NOT COOL. I hate it when I do that. I think my fear for his safety translates into aggitation. It comes out in accusing tones of "How fast were you going, is someone else around?" When I should have said. "oh, honey are you OK?" "Do you need anything?" For the record he is fine. And he is a good driver. I don't always transmit that well. So I'm sorry. There is always hope that next time I will respond better. oh, and have a good day-Husband.

Let it Snow!!

Wow, it's still coming down. This is becoming almost comical, getting our car out of the driveway. For those of you who have been to my house, you know we live on a hill, But the snow around the car, really is that high. It is not from the hill. The drifts are ridiculous. But hey, they didn't cancel or even delay school, what is wrong with these people??!!! ALL other school districts make other arrangments, but not ours. I think we will be out early May and everyone else will be in school until JULY!!yea, maybe that 's a bit of an exageration, but come on-we get nothing, unless it -35 with a wind! CRAZY!!

I have to send the kids out today to clear off the trampoline, I'm starting to wonder if we should have taken it down this winter.........................

It's once again bowing under the weight, and if you look closely you can see the 2 feet of snow piled on top.
This bouncey horse is usually taken in every winter. But we had company a while back and the kids pulled it out. ANd I forgot to put it away. The patio has been shoveled a few times but you can still see the snow is almost neck high on this horse...................I hope it doesn't melt. We're gonna have a mess.

sickness, AGAIN

No, I didn't forget you out there. Blogger world. We have had strep throat. I think since Robert had Mono a few years ago, He seems to catch everything now adays. He literally went 9 years without ANYTHING. Not even a cold. I think it was an amazing thing. It also, makes him grateful for his health. I also got a cold sore from, well ,you know WHERE!!! This sucker gave birth , I think, about 8 times on my LIP. Every time I went to the mirror it had grown double in size.I havent' had one like this in years. My lymph nodes in my neck swelled up and I was swollen from the cheek down and I ran a temp. How's that for a BLAsted COLD SORE. I finally called in the big guns, and gave the ol' Doc. a call. I LOVE Modern medicine. That's all I have to say about it!!! Anyway, take care all!!
