Ian
Today is Ian's birthday. He is so excited to be 7 yrs. old. He is entering into the 2nd grade. Ian is a great brother to Brock. He is very sensitive and kind to others. This I really appreciate. I love it that he is thoughtful. Ian loves to play video games and is getting very good at it. His sister's often ask his how to 'do' something on the Wii. He has a talent for helping others and being kind, without any presumption or malice or pride. He loves to be with his Dad and serving others. Robert often will take Ian when he does service in the Ward and Ian almost always goes along and is a big help. We're proud of Ian and hope you have a wonderful 7th birthday!!

this week

I thought you might be interested in some Temple Facts -
The Twin Falls Idaho Temple was the fourth temple built in Idaho, following the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple (1945), the Boise Idaho Temple (1984), and the Rexburg Idaho Temple (2008).
In 1996, the 14 stake presidents serving in the Magic Valley co-authored a letter to President Gordon B. Hinckley requesting a temple be built in Twin Falls.
President Gordon B. Hinckley came to Twin Falls in June 2004 to select a site for the Twin Falls Idaho Temple among eight properties under consideration.
The former Candleridge Golf Course, located just south of the Snake River Canyon, was purchased as the site for the Twin Falls Idaho Temple. Of the 36 acres, just over 9 acres was retained for the temple and stake center. The remainder was developed into residential lots.
The Twin Falls Idaho Temple features beautiful ordinance room murals by Idaho artist Leon Parson showcasing local landscapes including the majestic Shoshone Falls.
A Syringa flower motif, created by Utah artist Tom Holdman, is used throughout the Twin Falls Idaho Temple including most of the 200 art-glass windowpanes with 12,000 pieces of glass. The Syringa is Idaho's state flower.
The finest materials were used for this House of the Lord including wood imported from Africa, granite from India, and stone from Montana.
The exterior walls of the Twin Falls Idaho Temple are made of 282 precast concrete panels with a quartz rock finish (mined in Washington state) that weigh up to 30 tons.

*This week we took the kids to the Twin Falls Temple open house. It was fun. We spent the night in Burley at my brother's house, Thank you Lee and Ashly! and We all went to the open house together. It is a beautiful temple, I didn't feel like I could really enjoy it though, Alexa and Brock were starting to act up at that point and Robert and I had our hands full. :) It was starting to show that they had missed a nap time. But the other children handled themselves really well. It was fun seeing Lee and Ashly again especially now that they are moving to Wisconsin, with a new job. It'll be awhile before we see them again. :( I have really enjoyed them being closer, so I think we will miss having family that close.
Sadly, I am getting slower and slower. I feel like this baby is going to be a big one. But maybe I just need an excuse for my turtle's pace. We'll see. I measure really big and they are deciding weather or not to change my due date. I go in next week, so we will see then. :-) We are getting our air conditioning fixed today. SO I am excited for that. The heat this last week has seemed really HOT. SO I anxious to get the air going again!!

I am not sure why the picture of the temple won't show. It shows up in the create a new post section! so bear with me as I try to figure this out!

Cuteness
(This is Brock dressing himself-somehow I find this endearing, I love it!!)
So, Yesterday I noticed that Brock was sporting an ice-cream scoop in his pocket all day long. At one point I asked Robert about it and he said that Brock uses it as a light saber while playing. Robert saw him watching Star Wars (the movie) and using it at the same time. Funny. I guess I find it really funny because he actually owns a 'real' light saber. So I guess sometimes the imagination is cooler!

hair pic update!
So my friend came through for me! -Thanks, Lisa!! She made me more than I am in the pic, but that is why I like it! My hair can actually do several hair styles, but this is what it looked like the other day. Sometimes I get a little to 'big' with the hair fluffing. But I can't seem to get enough and switch over to the staighter styles. I like them on others. but for me I always seem to go for the 'bigness'. I guess I want my 'roof' to match my 'house'. LOL. Have a good day, all!

4th of July

My parents came for the 4th of July and my brother Ryan was there as well. We all went to the parade in town and it was exciting. I think it was a good parade-just HOT. It lasted 2 hours. That is a long parade!! We came prepared this year, with pillowcases for the kids 'loot' they get and water bottles and chairs for all. We also, brought a blanket to lay on. It was great!! Robert went down an hour early to grab a spot for us, but they were mostly taken-we shoulda known! But my man pulled through anyway and nabbed us a decent spot. We were all pooped by the end so we went back to my house for lunch and waited for Lee and his family to arrive! We all had fun, we BBQ'd and the kids hung out.
The guys played ALOT of Wii, and we were able to watch the fireworks from our front yard- It was an OK spot depending upon where you were in the Yard but it worked for the kiddies and not to much hassle. This year the firework show was amazing. I think I liked the show from a few years ago better but I heard on the radio that the Idaho Falls show was ranked #2 in the nation under Philapelphia, Washington DC came in #4 and the stadium of Fire in Provo was #10. SO I think we did pretty good for ourselves!! It was pretty much low key. I was really prepared for us to be super busy with the Zoo and activities down town but, the vote was to hang out-and that works for me too, Actually it was probably easier, since I get super tired now a days. I have anemia to which doesn't help. I can't seem to be up for more than 2 hours with out needing a nap. And now it seems that Braxton hicks have hit full force. I forgot how annoying those can be. They always make me nervous, wondering if they're 'real' or not. I don't know if that worry will ever go away with me!! I have had preterm labor twice (in prior pregnancies) and I always think- oh they're not real-and then they are and it kind of wigs me out!!! Anyway, now we're back to the grind of baseball, Boy, I can't wait for the season to end. 2 more weeks!! it's taking up alot of my time. But I think the kids like it!

Kids's say.........
Kids' say the funniest things. Alexa sat in an ant pile the other day and was covered in black ants. (the sugar ones) She was really horrified at the ants all over her body and was crying. While Robert was stripping her down for the bathtub she kept crying repeatedly, "Ants in my Butt." It was actually quite funny. Although she did end up with about 10 welts where they actually did bite her. I'm sure it didn't feel good. She already had a healthy fear of the bugs, but now she is obsessed. She also calls anything that creeps a "sbiber" (spider). And then we have Ian who was grounded from the Wii for awhile this week. When I gave him his punishment I said maybe even FOREVER. I was pretty upset. So this morning on the way to his baseball game he said, "Mom, will I even be grounded when I'm a Dad or at least an adult?" -Who knew I had so much power! To ground an adult! I should have told him that was up to his wife! But I didn't. I said no, he wouldn't be grounded that long, but sometimes it is tempting................
