cookie cutters?

This week for scouts is our Pine Wood Derby, I think it will be fun. My kids are excited to go. I am now enlisted to make sugar cookies, I had this brainy idea to make car sugar cookies for the event. Everyone thought great! But now I have my biggest challenge. I can make alot of things but these kinds of cookies are not my best. SO I will try my best. But we will see. I have yet to track down the correct cookie cutter, but I still have a few phone calls to make, so hopefully it will work out.

I can't wait for the 4th of July, not sure why its on my mind this year. But it is my favorite Holiday. I love the Patriotism of it as well. I have already begun planning the events and food. Yummy!!! I love the weather and the whole day affair it's become at my house. I think this long winter has me dreaming of warmer weather. hence, the warmer holidays!

IEP

Ian had a glowing report. It felt so good to hear positive news. We've had several years of the other kinds. They anticipate at Ian's current rate (if he can maintain) to only be needing speech therapy for one more year. YEA!! Occupational therapy isn't needed anymore! And only needing resource room for one more year and then they will start to mainstream him in the classroom. He is currently with the other kids in the grade work but needs 'smaller' groups to maintain. So we will see how it all goes. Here in Idaho, Title one and resource room have differant meanings than Washington State. Resource room is for the most severe kids, and then they move them up to Title One and then to the mainstream classroom. So Ian was able to move to title ONe this last semester so that was a good thing. The school is trying to be more on top of things so in the fall they won't have to wait for Ian to fall behind to help him. They are anticipating putting him in programs right away to help him so he can become mainstream. I am hoping that this helps. Seeing your child fall behind really sucks. So I guess, I am feeling really good about his Future. This summer we are planning a myriad of things to keep him from falling backwards. Wish us all Luck!!

lots of randomness

Nothing new here, I'm still battling the curse of morning sickness. I'm starting to wonder if it will ever go away. At least now it's not all day. Just pockets of time during the day, and especially the evening. My last two pregnancies it was gone by about 22-24 weeks. So I have 9 more weeks to go. I guess you could say I'm over half way done with the sicky part-That's a good thing. With the warming weather I have started to walk outside again. It's been nice. The fresh air feels good.

Today is Den Meeting for Scouts. We are building car stands for the boys. I hope it goes over well. I'm kind of excited to do it. I hope they are useful. I've really struggled to understand an 8-10 year old boy. They are so foreign. The leaders might as well dropped me off on another planet and said-teach these people some skills, oh, you won't know the language or get their humor. And don't even bother trying to understand their minds!! Some days it feels like that. Some days its nice. I think the boys are coming along though. Anyway, enough complaining!-I'm sure today will be great.

Ian's IEP meeting is today. I'm a little nervous about it. I hope he is improving. I see improvement, but I am worried that will current funding they will try and take away some of the programs he's on. He does speech therapy twice a week, occupational therapy, and reading/math skills. Actually the occupational therapy can go, I think he's good there, but I think he needs the other. He learns but it takes huge amounts of repitition. But once he learns it seems to stick. He is actually quite strong in Math-in comparison to the other things. I think his memory is good at most things, but book learning seems to take him along time. We'll see what they have to say. I'm mentally toughing up to get ready to go.

Wish me luck today!!

Endoscopy

Robert had his endoscopy on Friday and it went well. They did not find cancer or even an ulcer (those were our two main concerns) But they did biopsy his intestines and stomach. They think he has a severe food allergy. So now we are waiting for the test results. Actually the procedure went very well. It only lasted about 20 minutes. And Robert was given a drug so he would have memory loss. As he was supposed to be awake during the process. This drug worked great He remembered nothing, even an hour in recovery he was still asking me the same questions over and over. By the third time I was busting out in laughter. it went something like this. I walked int0 the recovery room and he would look over at me and say "oh, your here, how long have I been gone?" I would respond, "oh, about 20 minutes," he would say "oh, really that long? I thought it was 5 minutes." Then he would look away, and look back and me and say " oh, your here, how long have I been gone?" I would say "oh, about 20 minutes" he would say (again) really that long? I thought it was 5" then about 5 minutes later we would repeat the conversation over again. By then I was laughing and he wanted to know why! He did gradually gain his memory back, but it was like talking to a newborn baby when he first woke up. The big eyed blank look. The information was in one ear and out the other. within two hours he was his normal self. But for the first hour our conversations went no where. We were literally talking in circles!

We're back

We went to Burley to visit my Brother and his family over conference weekend. I learned how to play a new game. It was fun. I now have a enw obsession. Maybe I can get Robert to play tonight. That would be fun. Conference was great I didn't get a whole lot of listening done on Sat. But the Sunday sessions were great.

I had a fun time with my sister in law. (My brother is still working crazy hours for the next two weeks until the plant is up and running fully!) We took the kids to Story book park. It's an awesome playground that the kids had a blast with. I'll post the pics later.

Robert will be having an endoscopy later this week. He's pretty nervous about it. I am hating the waiting that comes with procedures. It grates on the nerves. And then we will have to wait for the results to come back. The timing sucks for this. I guess the timing will never be good. But life just seems really busy right now!! But then..........doesn't it always?
