Family Home Evening

I had grand plans for Monday night. We were going to happily work on the yard, it would have been like the 7 dwarves working in their mine, but ours would have been grass, trees and flower beds. I thought it would be glorious! Oh, the delusions I have! :)

But then reality hit. The weather got cold. I don't do that well with cold. Not while working outside anyway. Because of the change in plans, I decided that we would do the next best thing.
We went for ICE CREAM. I think all were happy. At least I didn't hear any complaints!!

Jade had stars next to her name-so that means she got 2 scoops of ice cream for her treat. (Due to the new system in the house) Nobody else earned it this week. Before we left I said to Robert that I was "Jonesin' for some chocolate ice cream" Brock heard me and exclaimed that he also wanted Indiana Jones Ice cream, Oh the minds of a 4 1/2 year old. Hilarious! anyway, for the record. I didn't get chocolate. I got cotton candy. The color of it draws me in every time. I should learn to just eat it off of my kids. I think I would be happier. anyway, what do you guys do for FHE?

Miracles

I just witnessed a blessed miracle in the Fehrenbacker household. Ms. Alexa announced at lunch that she had to go pee. Well, I naturallly ignored it. I probably shouldn't, but she has had many of these 'statements' for the last 3 months. I did say "oh, well, if you need to go, go in the toilet." Normally she will then tell me 'no'. When I said it this time she said ok! (We have also gone this route and not had success) So I followed her into the bathroom. she dutifully got on the toilet and 'tried'. (Well, I think she went in her diaper) I actually left her in the bathroom. BEfore I left I reminded her that if she did go she could have a gumball out of the gumball machine. She was stoked! so she said I need to go poop! and wished her luck and left. Well, Alexa came and told me she 'went' and I checked. NO. Such. Luck. There was nothing there. I explained to her that I could see it and that she didn't 'go'. This time though, she got back on the toilet. I left again. In a few minutes she came and told me that she went. So I checked, again. SHE DID IT!! so I gave her the oligatory potty party. She was so excited. I got out the gumball machine and she finally partook!! I was starting to think this day would never come. She has been resistant to all my methods! I know that this is the beginning. I am ok with that, I just hope it continues!

my latest project

The other day I was dropping off a load of stuff to D.I. (Deseret Industries), and Robert and I decided to run in. We found some chairs that look like they are from either a church or a Hotel lobby. We bought 3. I have now refinished them. It's finally done. This was quite a learning experience. I have never upholstered anything before. But with the help of google and my camera I was able to figure this out.

I first found a website that gave really good "how to" instructions. Then while I took apart the old chair I took pics for reference. I used the pieces of fabric from the old chairs as a pattern to cut the material for the new chairs. I definilty learned alot in this process. I won't be doing this anytime soon though. I was a chore that was a bit disruptive to the household. While I love projects. I tend to get immersed in them and now it's time to get back to the daily grind.

Jade's glasses

Here is a picture of Jade's new glasses. I think she did a good job of picking them out. They're cute. I hope I can only get her to wear them whenever she is supposed to. :) I can't find the pic of the side of them, there is some blingage going on. Little diamonds and mother of pearl arms. I love it!!

New Pictures!

So here they are, blog world! We're finally updating the old pics. Now the scan of these is not that great. But the print is good quality. I like how these turned out, over all. I did a little retarded chin thing in the family one. I had noticed in the last few pics of the family that I had my chin raised to high. So I was over compensating. So you get what you see here. But over all I think it's fine. I was very worrid about wearing all black. I thought maybe the background was to dark and our skin to fair. (not Robert's, but the kids mostly) But I made sure that everyone had their 'color' on. (mostly lotion, so natural color comes out and it's not dry and icky)

But here we are in a nutshell!

I used to find taking pictures fun. Now I find it stressful. I guess I'm glad that it's over this year!

Create

I love this add from the LDS Church. It's really inspiring. It's like a really quick shot of the spirit. I think it really strikes a chord. Seeing the baby in it makes me want to give Gavin a great big squeeze. Check it out. It's short and it won't disappoint.

Go on, check it out! You'll love it!

I'll wait here.
