New Do

So I decided I was up for a change. I cut my hair last Wednesday. After a touch up on Friday, I think I love it. It's more of a bob now. I cut about 5-6 inches off and added some layers. I think it looks way better and fits my current life style. Besides it's way cooler and I always kept the long hair up in a clip lately anyway. I wish I had a pic of it. Maybe I' can get my friend to take one of me! (major hint- Lisa!!) LOL anyway, Our air conditioning went out this week and Robert doesn't think he can fix it. So I need to call the repair man and get it scheduled for them to come and look at it. I have this sinking feeling that it's gonna be alot $$$. So I guess I'll cross my fingers that it will be fixed before winter! (It doesn't blow warm air either!) So now we're spending alot more time downstairs, it's really quite nice down there. But I never hear the phone ring or the door bell down there. And on some days that's not necessarily a bad thing!!

We're excited for the holiday coming this week. It is my favorite Holiday, it trumps Thanksgiving and Christmas, I can't wait for it all- Bring on the Watermelon!!

update!

Wow, It seems so busy lately. But I do have a quick update for you. Last week my Brother and SIL called and asked us to meet them at the Pocatello Zoo. And so we did. It was so fun. The zoo there was a little better than I had expected and so we really enjoyed ourselves. It was a bit of a hike since this zoo is built into the mountain, but it was fun none the less. The kids had fun with cousins and seeing some fun animals. We took the kiddies to Arctic Circlce for lunch-mainly because it was a playplace and they had a fun. Our group was really loud and we kept getting 'looks' from others. But I didn't really care, I figured-hey, it's a children's play center, get over it! Thanks, Lee and Ashly for the invite, great idea, it was a lot of fun.

When I got home Robert had scored some tickets to the Taste of Idaho going on downtosn. Boy, that was fun, I will definilty want to get tickets next year! Alot of Venders were there with some awesome food samples to taste. I was able to figure out which ones I would want to go to again, and some I wouldn't! I was able to try some restraunts that I have never even heard of, or been too. It was fun to be in a crowd of people and hear the live music and amble around getting our food samples. It would be fun to go with another couple next time, -it was that kind of fun.

We are still in baseball and softball, it is keeping me busy for another 3 weeks. It's fun to see the kids play and develope as the season progresses, I love a good game!! I find myself wincing alot so I don't like to sit to close, wouldn't want the girls to see me and think that I didn't approve or something!! But the little kids have done well, hanging out at the field playing. I just have to remember to bring them 'treats' to , so when the team passes out food at the end of the game they don't cry! They do pretty well, overall though.

The girls are at Krupp Scout Hollow today. They are having the activity day Girls Day Camp. They love it and always have lots to tell me when they get home, They were up early packing lunches and getting suncreen and bug spray and sunglasses, So they were super prepared! And they were VERY excited to spend their money at the trading post. Last year they came home with a rabbit pelt. I hope they find something else this year, that thing was weird. They thought it was cool, though! I couldn't wait until it had been long enough we could get rid of it, after all, what do you do with it?

Next week I have family coming into town for the 4th of July, pretty exciting, but lots to prepare for. We can't wait to see everyone. I think it will be fun. We have the largest fireworks show this side of the Mississippi. So it is quite something. They time it to music and everything, I hope I can stay awake this year to see it all. (I have a hard time usually, but pregnant is really hard to stay awake for anything past 9pm) So we're planning to have some fun!!

Poem

Brynlee has been working on her Faith in God in preperation of her Primary graduation. She is very excited and anxious that she won't make all her goals. She is way ahead, and has only a few left to do and she will be ready by the end of summer. She still isn't going to be 12 until December!! GO BRYNLEE!! One of her goals asked her to write a poem or short story about a Gospel principal. She chose to do this.

Repentance

Repentance is great
for if we make a mistake
we can make it right.

Christ made it so for you and me
we can always be happy.

If something you did was wrong
you know what to do,

Kneel and Pray.
With a Sincere Heart
and have it washed away.

-Brynlee Fehrenbacker

I thought it was very good. I can NOT write poems AT ALL. SO this was very insightful. I was happy to see her comprehension of repentance.

Good Job, Bryn!

Enrichment

I was asked to be the specialist for the Taster's Group, (that's what I am calling it) This group has a food topic per month and everyone brings a food and the recipe and gets to taste other people's food and take home their recipe's. So for the month of June our topic was appetizers, these are the recipe's of the food that I brought. I wish I had pics but alas, the camera is gone and so I will have to make do.

Appetizer Tortilla Pinwheels

8 oz. sour cream
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
4 oz. diced green chilied, drained
4 oz. chopped black olives, drained
1 c. cheddar cheese, grated
1/2 c. chopped green onions

Garlic Powder to taste, seasoned salt to taste.
5-10 inch flour tortilla's, (I used the green and red ones)
salsa.

Mix all of the filling ingredients together thoroughly. Divide the filling and spread evenly over the tortillas; roll up tortillas. Cover tightly with plastic wrap; refrigerate for several hours. Unwrap and cut in slices 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick. (an electric knife works best.) Discard ends. Lay pinwheels flat on glass serving plate; garnish with parsley. Leave space in center of plate for small bowl of salsa.

Crescent Shrimp Rolls

1 pkg. crescent rolls
1 hard boiled egg, chopped
1/4 c. chopped green stuffed olives
1/4 c. chopped green onions
1/4 c. chopped celery
1 pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 can tiny shrimp

Unroll crescent rolls into four rectangles. Spread the filling over them evenly; roll up as a jelly roll, slice in 1/4 inch slices, Bake at 400 degrees until nicely browned, about 10 minutes.

I brought these and they looked good on the platter and I hope everyone liked them!!
