Driver's license

I went in today to renew my license. It actually expired in May and I forgot about it. So when the kids games' were cancelled due to the weather, and I was all ready to go with no place to go, I thought "why not". So I drove over to the DMV. Find the correct parking, go in and find the right room. I Exchange pleasantries with the woman as I handed her my old license and she types in the driver's license #.

She quickly glances up at me, and kinda turns her shoulder away from me and hunches over.

She writes some numbers on a pad of paper and makes a call. I'm a little mystified at this point and I try to catch her eye so I can ask what's up. She won't look at me. Now she's on the phone and says "yea, Carrol, this is Carrol, (for real) and It looks like I have a match."

A MATCH? to what? are you kidding me? she hangs up the phone and looks at me. I ask what's the match for and in a very nonchalant manner, she says, someone has your similar name and/or number /or birthdate. But she wouldn't tell me more. By now, the whole room is staring at me like I might attach someone. I'm harmless really, (unless I sit on you- hehe!!) anyway, she decides I'm ok -I guess because they continued to give me the license. This actually happened 8 years ago and they actually took me in another room to answer some questions. I never really know what is up or how to fix it. I'm not allowed this info. IT DRIVES ME CRAZY!! But today was omnimous enough I was wondering what the phone number was to an attorney in our ward. I was afraid that would happen again.

Oh, and by the way, the lady said it would probably happen every time I get a license! can you believe it? So yes, CARROL. I'm safe.

On another note, Robert was talking to the kids the other night and they were discussing the next super hero movies. And naming all the heros that they know. Ian pipes up that MOM is the next hero. Robert suavely says, yes, she takes good care of us , huh?

Ian says, no DAD - I know her power! A little suprised, Robert says oh, yea? what?

Ian says, "She makes BABIES".

There it's official. I AM A SUPERHERO!!
Here's some recent pics! for no particular reason.

the MIGHTY DUCKS

Brock played his very first game of T-ball today. He plays for the Mighty Ducks. That is funny stuff. The whole team is pretty clueless, which makes for fun watching. Brock is 4 1/2 years old. Most of his team is in Kindergarten or going to go in the fall. It's fun to see the kids learn and play a game that they have no idea about. Brock 'played' 1st and 2nd base. He did fairly well. He started to catch on, but after his first at batt, he chased the ball and almost picked it up. But he eventually made it to the base, he even beat the ball which was a small miracle in itself. I love it that kids this young have such pride in what they do and that they don't care if they were 'tagged' out. The kids just batt through the line up, and that's ok with me!

I'm sorry I have no pictures. The camera is officially dead. 'sniff, sniff'.

Alexa

This last week I went to Winco for our groceries. I left the kids at home. It was a big shopping trip. But when I got home I found some distraught daughters. Brynlee was quick to tell me what happened.

ALEXA CUT HER HAIR!

I was not a happy camper. Her hair left alone went almost to her bum. It was at least to her lower back. I loved it. I would look at it during the day, I would take pride in her hair (that was probably my down fall)

She gave herself bangs, and 'layered' half of her hair. It was now to her shoulders. So I made some desperate phone calls trying to get a hold of someone who could 'fix' it. But I resolved to just fix it myself. So I got the scissors and remembered that my friend Lisa told me about the pony tail cut. I decided to try it. And it worked perfectly. I actually think that I may want this cut!! Jade says she has 16 year old hair! But at least it's not 3 yr old hair!!

Now back to Brynlee. I was like weren't you watching her? and Brynlee told me that they were 'pretending to cut hair' and then the older girls left to play something else. Alexa wasn't done playing! I was like, Bryn-what did you think would happen? I guess I forget sometimes that Brynlee's 12, And that is such a 12 yr old thing to do...

Now, if only I could get someone to cut the boys' hair, Maybe Alexa would like to try her hand on someone else...

say what?

ok, tomorrow is the big day, the beginning of our game schedule for June/July. It's going to be busy. But I guess busy, is better than nothing to do. BRock's game starts at 8:30 in the morning, Brynlee has Practice at 9. It will be alot of running around.

I'm excited though.

Who decided that I could be in charge of kids? that's crazy! today we've been working on our goals for Faith in God, and Young Women's program. I have to motivate these kids. I'm secretly glad that I'm not a leader. I don't know that goals are my specialty. I'm a 'do one thing at a time' kind of gal. Just do it. No whining kinda gal. I don't like to write things down either. That takes to much time. But then again. I like to make lists. They motivate me and organize my mind. But not goal lists. That completely overwhelms me. Besides, I'm always worried that someone will find my list. That completely freaks me out!!! They might hold me accountable or something! :)

on to other things. Like the weather. CRAZY, we've had hail and rain for like 3 days. I can't believe that it's spring/summer. Idaho weather really is crazy, I'm not convinced that I love it. It really is making me CRAZY. I need the predictability of the seasons.

Randomness abounds today. I think I better get off, my mind is jumping all over the place!

Ok, I'm back! It's such a relief to get my computer back. I had a bad virus that had to be fixed. But we're up and running now. I'm so excited to have my 'computer' time again.

oh, where to begin. I have had so many things to blog about but now it's just overwhelming to catch up. So I'm probably gonna just skip them all and pick up with the 'now'. Tomorrow is the last day of school and I am feeling insanely busy. Today is family picnic day. I have 3 lunches to attend. Also, Ian and Jade have baseball practice today. oh joy. Did I mention that I am coaching Ian's team? There weren't enough teams in his age group. So I ended up coaching to get him a team. Hopefully, it stays fun. His team is pretty diverse. I let the kids pick their team name and they came up with werewolves. I couldn't stop laughing. Actually, If I would have picked, I could have gone for Vampires.... anyway, I'm still trying to convince Robert to grow out his hair to be the team Mascot... This year because of the ages of the kids, I wasn't able to combine their teams. So I have 4 baseball team schedules to coordinate. It' pretty busy. I'm sorry My post is so sporadic and off hand. It's how I roll these days!

We put our garden in yesterday, This year we invested in a drip system. I think I'm in love. If it works as promised I think a load will be lifted from my shoulders. I still need a few more supplies for this system, But I think it will save us in the long run. My garden is basic this year. Nothing fancy or exciting. I did more on quantity this year than variety. we have green beans, cucumber, squash, tomato, green pepper, onions and carrots. I have a few more things to plant. But as a whole that's it!

On Friday, we have scout day camp. I'm a little more excited this year because I know what to expect. I still have coordinating to do for it, but I'm excited to do it!

have fun kicking off your summers' everyone!
